Climate scenarios play a key role in investors’ decision-making. They inform the data, advice and assumptions that underpin plans to decarbonise portfolios and achieve net zero emissions by 2050. However, scenario modelling to date has significantly underestimated the pace and scale of climate change. The session will discuss how uncertainties in modelling impact on PRI signatories. For example, what are the latest developments, and how might service providers best respond and support asset owners?

This participatory session will:

update participants on latest developments in climate modelling;
hear from a service provider on steps to support more robust modelling;
cover how this relates to transition planning;
hear from an asset owner about moving beyond the simplified assumptions of current approaches.
